Meet Mara
Works Progress is owned and operated by Mara Lubell, a creative director with over 12 years of experience in graphic design and branding. Her professional career began with environmental graphics at Debra Nichols Design in San Francisco. There she was a lead designer of the San Francisco Giants baseball stadium (formerly Pacific Bell Park). From there, Mara segued from environmental design to packaging at the in-house marketing department of The Gap, Inc.

Her retail design experience continued to grow in New York with The Limited Brands and in Atlanta with Newell Rubermaid’s Goody Products. Along the way, Mara also gained web design experience at CNN.com and several Atlanta agencies.

With a wide array of design experience under her belt, Mara started Works Progress in 2007 offering a comprehensive set of skills to start-up companies, and established businesses alike.

Mara graduated Cum Laude from The University of Georgia with a BFA in Graphic Design. Her work has garnered recognition and design awards from SEGD, AIGA, GDUSA, and the New York Book Show. She also volunteers her time with the Hampton Roads Chapter of AIGA as the outgoing/Co-president.
Meet Kristi
Kristi might look like a spring chicken, but with over a decade in the creative field she's got an arsenal of mad skillz and a never-ending source of tricks up her sleeve. Here at Works Progress, she uses her flair for design, management savvy, and tech know-how to shake up the business and non-profit sectors. She spends *a little* of her spare time (since this is her Year of Presence) changing the world as President of AIGA Hampton Roads and developing inspiring training seminars for local businesses and organizations looking to participate in the 21st century, and the rest of it with her incredibly supportive hubby and three rambunctious kitties.
