EXPERIENCE
-o Graphic Designer, freelance, 1986-present
Design and produce a variety of art products for individuals and professional organizations. Projects entail consultation with clientele, quality control, financial responsibilities, and coordination with printers. Design CD covers, brochures, book covers, annual reports, logos, letterheads, business cards, posters, invitations, announcements, displays, T-shirts, and coasters. Create materials for promotional package, including magazine ad, postcard, and store display flat. Redesign website which involved working with technical experts who developed the site.

Office of Technology Assessment, United States Congress, Washington, DC
Member of a two-person graphics team in the publishing office of a congressional research agency. Design responsibilities included producing books (for conventional printing and online dissemination) as well as a range of other products__brochures, letterhead, postcards, forms, fliers, manuals, catalogs, and materials for press conferences and hearings. Additional responsibilities included type specing; photo manipulation; inspection of blue lines, color keys, and chromaline prints; and on-site press inspections. Major accomplishments:
-oo Designed graphic elements for OTA's World Wide Web home page and prepared graphics files for online posting as part of OTA's successful electronic
dissemination program.
-oo Designed, developed, and executed a complete catalog redesign. Worked with typographers to create templates for more efficient pagination of new book design.
-oo Worked to transform art department from manual-intensive operation to
fully electronic environment.
-oo Produced consistently high-quality, award-winning publications despite tight deadlines and conflicting priorities.
-o Board of Directors Member, June 2001-June 2004

Member of Board of Directors, serving first as Sponsorship Coordinator and secondly as Programming Logistics Coordinator. Responsibilities included coordinating the logistics between event coordinators, designers, printers and paper representatives in their support of the many design events hosted by the DC chapter of the AIGA, a chapter which serves over 700 active members.

One of two lecturers responsible for teaching U.S. design techniques to a delegation of Chinese design professionals from the National Packaging Import and Export Corporation, China Pack—an agency under the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade. Training sessions sponsored by AmAsia, an import, export, and consulting business specializing in trade with China.
