In August 2013, I graduated from the School of Art + Art History (University of Florida) with a Master of Fine Arts (Graphic Design). My MFA creative project explored ways to inform viewers about the truck art of India. Being an ardent street art fan, I believe that very little has been done to document the Truck art of India. Hence, I dedicated the final years of my graduate studies to research, investigate, and document this vernacular art form. Apart from exhibiting creative projects at my MFA show in March 2013, I also collaborated with a group of professionals from India to make a documentary film—Horn Please—about the truck art of India. Already screened at locations in Gainesville, the documentary film is scheduled to be shown at more venues in the United States as well as in India. Some of my earlier projects based on Indian truck art have been featured on design websites including thedieline.com, underconsideration.com, designworklife.com, and itsnicethat.com. My professional work experience involves working as an Art Director at various leading advertising agencies in Mumbai and New Delhi including Leo Burnett, Ogilvy & Mather, McCann, and Publicis Communications. During my six and half year advertising career, my work has earned appreciation and various national and international awards including Cannes Silver Lion, Cannes finalist, D&AD Inbook, Clio bronze, AsiaPac finalist, and Spikes finalist. My advertising work has been featured in publications such as Communication Arts Advertising Annual 2010, The Work, and Luerzers Archive. I was also ranked 269 in the all Asia creative ranking by Campaign Brief Asia in 2011.

In Fall 2010 I joined the University of Florida, when I received a prestigious fellowship to pursue my studies in the graphic design graduate program. Since then, I have achieved various recognitions and scholarships for my academic achievements at the School of Art + Art History including the Outstanding Academic Achievement award in 2011, the Rad Grad award in 2012, and the Dennis and Colette Campay Studio Art Scholarship in 2012 and 2013.

In addition to my course work, I have also provided instruction in typography to the sophomore level students at the University of Florida, as well as assisted the University Gallery by designing their branding, various exhibition invites, and signage. Read Less
