I may seem a bit reserved, but you will quickly learn about my love of being around people, learning their story, and learning from that story. As a graduate student at Savannah College of Art and Design I came to realize that I want my design to benefit people, especially those who may not be heard. Today, design has moved beyond creating artifacts and has become a tool that can be used to help realize solutions for most problems in the world.

Discovering design's new role has certainly changed my outlook on my career. I look to expand my role in shaping the future generations of designers as a member of the faculty at TAMUCC, be involved in the local community, and continue to expand my knowledge of the constantly evolving industry. Much of my current writing focuses on improving the way design is taught in order to best prepare students for the industry. If my words inspire someone in the field or in academia then I will be happy. The growth of the field of Design, starting with the education of our youth, is far more important than is personal glory.
