In 2005 oversaw rebranding of the Press and its imprints. Oversaw and managed the Press' research and analysis of Brand position prior to major rebranding initiative, including interviews with shareholders and stakeholders. Ongoing, work closely with marketing and sales departments to analyze market position and competition comparisons. Art Direct and facilitate Brand translation in all aspects of Press' publishing stream including books, online products, and ebooks. Designed new advertising campaign (trade and scholarly) based on rebranding. Translate brand look for direct mail pieces, booth display, and catalogs. Continue to maintain brand consistency through daily interaction with marketing designers and approval process of ads and all marketing materials. Establishment of Columbia Business School Publishing brand as a distinct imprint of Columbia University Press, worked to adapt existing CBS brand (as developed by Pentagram Studios) in appropriate and effective ways. Continue to art direct all book covers and interiors and electronic products with attention to consistency of aesthetic and brand vision.

Responsible for all aspects of book and electronic media design, production and manufacture. Oversee a staff of ten full-time employees. Art Direct and manage an award winning design studio of five in house designers plus freelance designers based on thorough discussions of design and production requirements for titles with key stakeholders. Art direct a diverse list of over 180 new titles, 400 reprints, and numerous electronic publications per year, including The Columbia Guide to Digital Publishing, Columbia Granger's World of Poetry Online, Gutengerg-e, and the Columbia Gazetteer of the World. Design 25 plus books a year. Plan and administer departmental and manufacturing budgets of over $5 million. Maintain or improve established budgets and schedules. Meet critical deadlines without fail. In 1999 initiated creation of digital archive for all CUP content. Oversee maintenance and improvement of same. In 1999 initiated and developed XML Workflow. XML workflow simplifies design and paging of interiors resulting in huge savings in composition costs, improves schedules dramatically, and helps CUP leverage digital content for digital distribution channels. Responsible for introduction of Green Press best practices and adoption of PCW paper as default for all press titles. Read Less
