About Me
I recently graduated from Elon University with a BFA in Art and minors in Strategic Communications and Women and Gender Studies. I enjoy experimenting with the infinite possibilities and processes the digital art world holds. I am constantly working to improve my work and broaden my knowledge base.
Senior Thesis Work
My process begins by building small-scale three-dimensional models of landscapes and then photographing them. Once the photo is made I destroy my model, leaving the photograph as only evidence of my 3D construction. My work seeks to question how we as a society define what is “real” in a world where a multitude of media and technology radically shapes and filters our reality. The models I create reference traditional landscape painting from the Hudson River School and Luminism, styles which are indicative of evoking the sublime and Emersonian thought. Comprised of predominantly man-made material, my models draw attention to the hyperreality we exist in, and push us to re-think and re-examine our surroundings.
