Have you ever seen You, Me and Dupree? It’s about this slacker that goes through life not really knowing his purpose, his raison d'etat. In a key scene in the movie, he speaks at career day. He relates these children to “little pods, just waiting for instructions from the mothership.” He tells them that some will get zapped up right away. I was one of those kinds of pods.

To begin with, I love art. Since I was a little girl with my crayons and finger paints, I loved to create. It became my raison d’etat at the ripe old age of two. From there, I took as many art classes as I could to establish my talent. And then came college. After two years of fine arts, my father recommended I check out some other classes. Things were never quite the same once I stepped into Introduction to Graphic Design. After switching my major and immersing myself in design, I had a new love interest.

I am a graphic designer located in Manhattan looking to become a design rockstar. I am looking for a position that is challenging. One where I can learn and grow as a designer, to be better than I ever imagined to be possible. Currently, I’m working in-house full time, taking classes to improve my skills, volunteering for AIGA and throwing seven different kinds of smoke.
