  • Yotel is a chain of in-airport hotels based on Japanese pod-style accommodations. The Yotel logo sprung from the shape of a pod, a bed, and an airplane window. It is designed to be iconic; to look like it belongs in an airport; and still to reflect the funky, modern aesthetic of the sleek hotel.
  • Working with a team of two other designers, an art director, and a copywriter, we developed a set of icons for Yotel's major benefits.

  • The benefit icons dominate a series of back-lit posters. The copy plays off the images and directs weary travelers to the nearest Yotel.

This series received a Merit award in the AIGA Blue Ridge Flux 09 design competition.
  • Outlet covers branded for Yotel are found throughout the airport. This alternative media message reaches travelers who have time on their hands and could benefit from Yotel's extensive docking stations.

  • Window shades on inbound planes remind jetsetters that there are much more comfortable places to rest; namely, in a private, full-size bed with all the comforts necessary for true relaxation.
