This was a project for my packaging design class. The labels are for a fictional vineyard called Castillo Juan Navarro which has been a family owned vineyard for decades. The story is that the children of the Castillo Juan Navarro Family have recently inherited the vineyard and want to start competing in the global market with their new Casaña line. The varietals of the line are a Tempranillo and a Grenacha. We as designers had to come up with a brand essence and four core values and execute our design based off that strategy. My brand essence is “La Mancha treasures” with the core values of Nostalgia, Art, Culture & Quality. The brand celebrates the history and culture of La Mancha with a modern edge. The black and white imagery Acknowledges Old World La Mancha, yet you still don’t know if it’s a vintage picture or a modern image. The back of the label acts as a postcard from the family inviting the consumer to try their product. The stamps surrounding the neck of the bottle are created from rotating windmills which are iconic to the region.
