- Course: Visual Communication 1
This was an introductory course in visual communication taught by me as a Graduate Teaching Instructor for one section of the sophmore class. It is designed by Professor Karen Hayes Thumann. The course explores the importance design plays in shaping meaning and interpretation through basic visual interaction - Project: Word CommunicationGoal: To begin to synthesize form, color and communication.
The project has 2 parts:
1) Communicate the meaning of the following group of words using only 1 inch squares:
group 1: tumble, pressure, fear, balance (black squares)
group 2: flight, tranquility, death, celebration,
assembly, cooperation, security, opposition2) Use simple form to communicate using color:group 3: squeeze, impact, decay, magnetic, transfusion
full, assist, gigantic
