Typographic Intervention

  • Our goal is to convince people to walk around the plaza instead of driving around everywhere. And not only will it be more environmentaly friendly but it will also be a healthier alternative and help improve the safety in the Plaza.     
    The word we have chosen is "Walk". We have chosen Helvetica as our type face for easy legibility. We wanted a type without serifs, that was thick enough to have visual weight but not too bold where its overwhelming. The letters will be on the backs of our volunteers to enhance our word, they will be walking around in the stores to encourage people to walk around to their destinations rather than drive. The letters will be in black so that it could pop out and be read easier from the white shirts that our volunteers will be wearing.
