Description
A semester long documentation project about typical college guys. For the past couple of weeks of the 2012 fall semester, I’ve been observing the house across the street from me. Living there are typical college Jackson Street boys. Every weekend they put up a sign across their front porch made out of a tablecloth and spray paint. Real cheap, I know. But hey, they’re college students. I even overheard them telling their neighbors that they were going to create a new sign for the weekend, and they should expect it to be up on Thursday by 4pm. The signs usually say things that standard college guys would say. These signs always created anticipation throughout the entire neighborhood. Everyone would always be looking forward to what clever (or senseless, or idiotic, or stupid) signs they would come up with next. Along with the sayings came many different reactions. I secretly enjoyed documenting what everyone was saying about them. Eventually, I told my roommates what I was doing, and they were ecstatic to help me out by creeping. They were always letting me know when a new sign was up or if they heard anything dumb come from across the street. The house across the street gave me and many others a lot of entertainment throughout the semester, and hopefully this book can give you a sense of what it is like to live across from the typical college drunk.
