Typeface Specimen Book

Design a typeface specimen book for the Sans Francisco Typeface detailing the steps followed and problems encountered while creating the typeface

 

Solution
I chose to create a specimen book that was filled with the heritage of the city. Each image was given a sepia tone and the pages opposite were a cream color, instead of white, to reference imagery of a bygone era. When using Sans Francisco towards the end of the book, I wanted to integrate the face with monumental moments in the history of San Francisco. These include the counterculture movement, Allen Ginsberg’s poetry, Harvey Milk’s politics, and of course, Jerry Garcia and his Grateful Dead.
