Brief:
A The goal was to tell a personal story about my journey to Germany and all the friends I made there through a few letter forms using only black and white.
Process and Design :
I designed a set of ten typographic postcards to depict this journey. Postcards, with their immediate association with both traveling and connecting with friends were the ideal medium. I designed custom letters, illustrative drop capitals with a variety of type treatments and styles to create a set of postcards, as engaging and vibrant as black and white photographs of my trip. The postcards are held together by a belly band patterned with custom-designed ampersands - a symbol that literally means 'to connect'. The postcards and belly band are printed on cream stock dusted with gold, adding sophistication and charm.
