One of my ongoing projects is the “Traveling Window” series. I found a window on the side of the road and built a four by five foot frame around it with a handle on top and put shingling on the front to make it look like the exterior of a home. I then took this window around with me to various locations, both beautiful and ugly, such as a beach and an abandoned house. This piece creates a dialog, starting a conversation with the viewer, and makes them reflect on the different placements of the object. Using this found object that I came across on the side of the road, I created an interpretive piece that inspires a deeper curiosity towards itself.
