Trade As One faced a unique challenge. A large part of their business was putting on weekend events, where they would set up IKEA-like showrooms for people to purchase items on the spot. The problem was the venues they worked with no longer would support such a large-scale event.
Elative worked with Trade As One to deliver a robust e-commerce website, as well as an integrated system that allowed Trade As One to bring to events a fraction of the inventory they used to bring. The system combined point of sale barcode scanning with an email marketing system and their new e-commerce website.
At an event, customers would stick the barcodes of items they were interested in buying. Trade As One personnel then scans the customers' cards, and the website then knows to send a follow up email with all the customers' items pre-listed for online checkout.
The new system was a success, allowing Trade As One to adapt to the economy's impact on the feasibility of large-scale events by embracing alternative online strategies. In addition to the above e-commerce system, Elative also delivered a blog and email marketing newsletter system.
