Description
We we’re thrilled to work once again with Philip Makanna (a.k.a. Ghost), a renown aerial photographer and author of three highly successful books: GHOSTS: A Time Remembered, GHOSTS: Vintage Aircraft of World War II and GHOSTS of the Skies: Aviation in the Second World War.
Ghost is working on a pictorial commemorating the restoration of the VanDersarl Bleriot, which as build in 1909 at a time when human-powered flight was barely achievable, and the thought of two teenagers managing to build their own aircraft and engine and teach themselves to fly seemed ludicrous. The VanDersarl Bleriot XI is perhaps the only flyable aircraft of this genre. It may also be the oldest American-built airplane that still flies. This book commemorates and celebrates a beautiful machine and its survival, in working order, a century later. We we’re thrilled to work once again with Philip Makanna (a.k.a.
