Description
This project consisted of choosing a book we've read and making a typographical book spread with an intended concept for the book. I chose The Shining for many reasons. I'm a huge Stephen King fan, but also because of the many different possibilities that I could've used for this book spread. The concept I chose deals with duality and things not always seeming how they appear. This is a major theme that is present in the novel and you see it play out more clearly in the movie, directed by Stanley Kubrick. I chose to create the Colorado landscape for the cover, and making the title the central place for my concept. I made the title appear as the hotel, and showing one side normal, and the other side distorted to a degree.
