The Moor is an attempt to design something more academic. I wanted to explore the challenge of designing a piece that was text heavy. The project theme was also to create an alphabet book. Going with the academic theme, I chose to do an anthology around Othello. Each essay relates to a specific theme and the themes are alphabetically arranged. For example, the theme for B is Beast and the essay is about animal imagery in Othello. I wanted it to be well designed yet still be able to function as a legible piece of literature. This project was also an experiment with different textures and types of paper, which was a tremendous learning process in itself.
