Main Street is an app for the iPhone that locates and informs people about farmers markets. It involves farmer and customer participation in which each receives mutual benefit. The app provides a means of communication for farmers in the 21st century, allowing them to broaden their consumer base and maximize their selling potential. Along with the app, I illustrated a three-part infographic conveying the rise in population and density of farmers markets, their local effect, and the practicality (and potential profitability) of the Main Street app. As a marketing strategy, I gave away free eco-friendly totes and aprons to those that promised to use them at their next market visit.
