This event invitation is an interactive mailer for a hair styling competition. The inspiration for the design came from Madam CJ Walker, a pioneer for black haircare in the early 1900's. The invitation is constructed as a vintage wooden Victorian hand fan, that were used heavily during this time. The fan is a pair of vintage hair shears when opened, revealing the event details.
