Description
A constructed image about Andy Warhol.
  • The Constructed Image
    Andy Warhol
  • A project that explores a new method of image-making, photographic story-telling, lighting, and production. I developed this construction of visual elements to be photographed as a single image. In theory, it would be used as promotional poster for a hall of fame museum. I chose to do Andy Warhol. I used his "diary entries" since they were the most personal thing we have of Andy. I didn't want the poster to be about his work, but the man behind it.  From there, I decided on the quote "I am a deeply superficial person" and also had inspiration from "If you want to know all about Andy Warhol, just look at the surface of my paintings and films and me, and there I am. There's nothing behind it".  I wanted the diaries, to contradict what Andy said, because I believe that there is something beneath the surface.  I wanted to show who Andrew Warhola Jr. was, not this idea of "Andy Warhol".
