An unbelievable, “OMG-that’s-yummy” treat. And a nostalgic, coming-of-age, feel-good movie. Individually, they’re amazingly sweet. But partner them up and you have something sweet enough to send the world into a tasty tango. Based on the incite that most girl friends are spending less time together, the Skinny Cow & Dirty Dancing "Nobody Puts Skinny in a Corner" movie event was designed to bring gal pals and Skinny Cow ice cream together and celebrate the 25th anniversary of the nostalgic romance of the Dirty Dancing film!
Skinny Cow and Dirty Dancing. What more could a girl ask for? Our lovely gals got all glam’d up for the super fab screening soirees in New York and Los Angeles! A one-of-a-kind girls night where they saw Dirty Dancing® on the big screen and enjoyed a night full of dancing, delish samples and a sweet swag bag, not to mention the ton of photos they all shared. Following a totally spectacular celeb meet-and-greet. What more could a group of BFFs ask for?
Ice cream-sandwiched in between the kick-off bash and grand finale was an amazing cross-country tour, with exciting movie-screening stops in six cities. Yes, it was the ultimate Ladies Night – and girls everywhere were in a fabulous frenzy!
For this event, we used the look of the 80s for inspiration and gave it a fresh, modern makeover with the Skinny Cow brand. The turquoise and hot pink colors, commonly used in designs during this era, took our consumers on a nostalgic, sweet trip down memory lane – to when they saw Dirty Dancing for the first time.
Signage at the event played a key role in the overall experience, as well as acted as way-finding system throughout the venue. Digital billboards in both Time Square and Grauman's Chinese Theater also gave both the brand and the event a grand feeling. Lighting, choice of furniture, DJ, and cocktails contributed to setting the "after-party" tone. Details like the welcome kit with letter, trivia guide, and coupons allowed the consumers to become engaged with the brand right from the start of the event. A museum-like tribute area to the movie emerged the consumer in sights, sounds, and memories! To plus the entire event and keep record, we invited Instaprint. This allowed consumers to download the Intsagram app, hash tag their photos, and the instantly pick up their photos at our Instaprint table!
