Design a typeface and then execute it from hand rendered roughs into a working digital typeface
Sans Francisco is a quirky typeface filled with character. The letter forms are based on the serif and sans serif combination of Clarendon and Futura, which gives Sans Francisco a classic feel with a modern twist. I wanted to create a typeface that would embody the unique energy of the city of San Francisco and reference a time of great change, the 1950s and 60s.
The typeface would ultimately be used as a branding tool for the city to promote tourism and it communicates the strength, character, and individuality of the city of San Francisco.
