This typographic calendar was designed based off of the jazz vocal style of 'scatting.' Using scat phrases and my two saxophones, I have combined the two to create interesting typographical imagery for the calendar.
Finding the first letter of each month within my saxophones and accessories, and then having different scat sequences surrounding the found type. The calendar highlights twelve different typefaces.
At the end of each month there is information about the typeface and designer/s who created it.
I did all the photography myself and hand cut all the scat letters in each main monthly spread.
Created Spring of 2012
The style of the main monthly spreads were inspired by Milton Glazers work.
