- Richard Avedon Bee Parfait
Blue Bottle Coffee, 2009 - I was asked by Caitlin Williams Freeman of Blue Bottle Coffee to help create the graphics for the Richard Avedon honey-pistachio frozen parfait, to be featured during the Avedon exhibit at the SFMOMA.
Caitlin wanted the parfait to imitate Avedon's photograph of Ronald Fischer, the beekeeper. She began by showing me a sample of the parfait she wanted to create, which was a two-inch square cube. With the original Avedon photograph and a few images of bee graphics that she found online, I assisted in creating a selection of bees to be transfered to the white-chocolate cube sheets that covered the dessert.
This parfait was included in a review of Caitlins work on the blog Design*Sponge.
