With the wedding being a fall weekend event on an island in northern Minnesota, the bride loved the idea of an invitation package that was very natural in color and texture—and as inexpensive and homemade as possible.
The bride and I toured paper stores where she picked out colors and textures that caught her eye. We made sure the stock was inkjet-compatible since we planned to print them at home. We found a beautifully-textured red handmade paper and cut it into ribbons to bind the package together.
The red birds were used on pieces throughout the wedding materials—from a brochure with all the wedding weekend details, to place cards and tags on the honey jars the couple gave as gifts.
