Challenged with the objective to design a mock up annual report for a fortune 500 company, I chose to develop a concept and design for Barnes & Noble. After thorough research and exploration, my project took on the motif of "redefining the reader". In accordance with this theme, I then decided to narrow the focus of this annual report to exploit three sectors pertaining to the company: personality in products, diversity in selection, and quality in experience.
Stylistically, I was looking to achieve a refined contemporary feel and tone. Consequently, I employed the use of black and white photography to draw professionalism to the overall outlook while using bold and vibrant colors to add flair. In addition, the sharp contours of shapes and minimalistic page layouts helped to advance this objective.
