Description
Been working on these posters for quite some time. In an effort to familiarize people with the rich musical culture of Iran (formerly known as Persia). I decided to illustrate these posters in an effort to have them printed eventually and they will continually be a work in progress until they are sent to print. Currently i am debating to include Farsi calligraphy or script into the design, but i think that undermines my original intention of introducing these figures to non-Iranian lovers of music, the audience is forcibly biased this way and i think i kind of like it. Other than that I’m contemplating adding some kind of border treatment that would match the current name holders on the bottom, but I’m afraid it might distract from the profiles, or perhaps over power the composition. Regardless, a landing page dedicated to the project is in the works as well as finalization of the graphics for silk screen printing. I have also considered doing a second round of artists, perhaps this time more contemporary, or simply filling the gaps according to those more knowledgeable than me. I am open to suggestions from music enthusiasts out there, please correspond in the comments!
