Description
For my final Typography II project I wanted to create something out of food because it is something I have wanted to try and experience for a while. I always enjoyed making pancakes on my griddle, and thought it would be interesting if I were to cut a typeface out of the pancakes. When deciding which typeface to use, I immediately knew I wanted to use one with serifs, because I thought the detail in the letters would be interesting to see cut out of the pancakes. After a tough decision I decided to use Adobe Garamond Pro, because I liked the class and character that the typeface had. During the cutting process, I had to pay close attention to the serifs so I would not accidentally cut them off. I really got to analyze the detail in the type, and see the beautifulness that often gets overlooked. This project was also shown in the 2nd annual Typoroma Exhibition at York College.
