- North By Northwest
Poster Layout
- In the end all I needed was an arrow.
Throughout my process on this piece I experimented with a full array of typography to get my point across, but I was so drawn to the symbol of a northwest pointing arrow, that I dropped all type completely. I originally took this photograph near Seaside, OR in what was my first ever experience with the Pacific in the Northwest. It was an extremely inspiring experience for me, climbing among the crags as the sun went down, on a secluded beach all by myself, and I began work on this piece shortly after.

- Early in the process I had the design set up as much lighter and more vibrant. As I went on the piece became purposefully darker referencing the mysteriousness of the Oregon coast, and the final design's look is inspired by the look of photographs taken by the Russian Lomo LC-A camera.
