Saint-Gobain's NOVA External Venturing group (a division devoted to seeking partnerships with innovative start-up businesses in the fields of construction products, advanced materials, energy efficiency and environmental sustainability) was looking for a clean, modern identity of their own to help attract potential start-up companies to their 2012 Innovation Competition. I crafted a unique visual brand for the NOVA team while maintaining existing master brand standards and staying true to NOVA's vision. The subsequent website I designed, which featured competition details for the 2012 year and the ability to submit an entry form online or recommend a start-up company that should apply for consideration, rallied over 320% more entrants than the previous year! I also led the creative team through design concept and execution of NOVA's exhibition graphics for their live "speed-dating" event, where they interviewed and chose a winning start-up company to sponsor. The event was held right on the show floor at Greenbuild 2012 and generated lots of interested traffic.
I am proud to have had a part in crafting an identity for NOVA and successfully raising the visibility of this catalyst for innovation in North America. The client team is excited to gear up for their bi-yearly push of the program here in North America for 2014. In addition to great client and audience usage and feedback as a metric for success, the website design was the recipient of a 2012 GDUSA American Web Design Award and an Inhouse Design Award, and the full identity was awarded a Saint-Gobain Global Communication Stars Grand Prize Award—the first time a North American business has received this award in competition history!
