Neche Collection (pronounced Ne Che) visually documents materials collected by my grandfather Neche Eugenio Hadad. A Cuban Exile of Lebanese descent, accountant, collector and sometimes thief. My grandfather greatly influenced my work as a artist/designer and passed on his obsession of printed matter and office supplies.

The project consists of a daily post from the collection and a weekly screen print inspired by one or more of the objects featured from that week.

  • Based on posts from the week of July 18-July 22, 2011.
This print was inspired my grandfather's New Jersey Drivers License#74, I wanted to keep some of the color from the original document, so I used a warm brown as my base color. I actually tried this print with a 2 other colors on it, and guess what one out?...that's right. Fluorescent orange, this is actually a darker and a bit redder orange than I used before, since it's mixed with a little magenta. Oh yeah, and the orange has 2 passes, so it really pops!
