Maple Lane Stables is owned and managed by the Pryce family, and is a classic example of resilience and hard work resulting in the achievement of a life long dream. After years of successful competitive riding and training, the Pryce ladies have dodged every bullet fate has thrown their way to open their own stable in Caledon, Ontario.
The Pryce ladies contacted me to recreate an embroidered logo from their team's saddle pads, that had a simple red canadian maple leaf symbol in the center.
I used a traditional logo format and gave Maple Lane a competitive edge with an updated font (Edmondsans, by J. T. Edmonson via Lost Type Co.). A modern twist on the maple leaf form using my favorite shape, the parallelogram, gives it a little more direction and movement. An updated color pallet that retains the prestige of the time honored tradition surrounding Equestrianism wraps everything up.
