MAGAZINE SPREADS (HOW TO TRAIN FOR A MARATHON LIKE A PRO)
I chose to design a how-to for my magazine layouts on training for a marathon properly. I focused on the idea of a how-to being a "guide" and expressed it by my illustration of the birds carrying and guiding the runner. I also used the stripes on the title page spread to express the levels getting up to the marathon as well as the 26.2 miles in a marathon. That is why there are 26.2 stripes. The same idea is shown on the second spread with the number of miles of the half-marathon and marathon that tries to incorporates the numbered steps as they go and with the repetition of the birds and runners.
