Description
A follow colleague at MIT's Office of Communications was creating a photo book to be given as gifts to donors and contributors of the Institute. She decided the book needed a designers touch for the jacket and asked me if I would mind taking a stab at it. Of course, I jumped at the chance and the only direction I was given was that the client prefers designs that are more reserved and clean.

I tried flushing out three different concepts I had in mind.

Concept 1: Focuses on using the Koch Institute's logo as a book cover.
Concept 2: Takes inspiration from the facade of the building, using the windows as a design element with photos of the interior cover and exterior looking out within the shelves.
Concept 3: Using the main lobby (giant petri dish-art gallery) of the building as a design motif with a beautifully taken photograph of the building provided by hired photographer.

In the end, I decided to only show the client the two strongest design which I felt were concepts two and three. The client was very pleased with concept two but requested different imagery such as researchers at work and presto!
