“Last Words” is a project that explores the last words, from the last statements, of Texas executed offenders. Each offender is listed in reverse chronological order from 1982 to 2011 on three sheets of fine ink jet paper. The database is linked to the records of each executed offenders and the crimes in which they have been convicted. 46% White, 36% Black, 17% Hispanic, 2% Other. Only three were women. All were convicted of murder with a punishment of death by lethal injection. Death by electrocution has not been used in the State of Texas since 1964.
This project was part of the 2011 Rochester Community and Technical College Faculty Show.
