Coffee and the ritual of making coffee have interested me for years. Whether it is a tradtional Italian stove top Bialetti percolator or a commerical grade espresso machine that commands a prime position at the front of each cafe. Consequently, I have created a hypothetical brand for a small-community based cafe in Philadelphia.
The concept was inspired by the professional, friendly and familiar customer service provided in general stores, local butchers and bakeries of bygone eras – service that encouraged clients to return.
As a result, I have used the worn pages of general store ledger books and graph paper from notepads as background textures for the visual identity system.
