Definition via Wilipedia: In typography, kerning is the process of adjusting the spacing between characters in a proportional font, usually to achieve a visually pleasing result.
As Graphic Designers, we are very familiar with kerning, but if I were to explain to non-designers what kerning is how could I relay it in a way that becomes easy to grasp but also captivating? To me, I often relate kerning as physical actions, as if the two letters are fighting to get it right. Therefore, I find there is no better way to visualize my idea than having Bruce Lee head butting bad guys to show you exactly how kerning works.
