Kalos Typeface Design

When asked to design my own typeface for a class project I immediately knew what I wanted to do! I journal a lot and love taking notes. When I write out a title for my notes I like make them stand out on the page, and color them in with colored pens! So my font is a take off of that.

I decided to call my font Kalos which is greek word for 'good, or beautiful', and is often referred to writing. It may not make much sense you, but I love studying Koine Greek and wanted to incorporate a greek word into the name for my font.

Below are my sketches, final font, and a Poster that incorporated my final font as well. I am sure I will look at this font later and want to make changes but considering it was my first time to create a typeface, I am pleased with how it turned out!
