AIGA’s (National Association for Design) Get Out the Vote campaign
invites designers to create nonpartisan posters and videos that inspire
the American public to participate in the electoral process and vote in
the 2012 general election.
The AIGA National Design Center in New York City is hosting an exhibition from October 3–November 30, 2012 featuring the
2012 Get Out the Vote
project. Posters by the University of Kansas, Visual Communication
students Eric Norton, Jing Jian, Erin Zingré, Jon Duong, Alyssa Bastein,
Kelsey Allen and Emily Mullett will be part of the exhibition at the
Design Center and will join Carolyn Appelbaum's posters in the online
exhibition. 2010 Alumna Cat Coquillette's poster was also selected.
All posters are available as PDFs here in the virtual gallery for you to browse and share with friends.
"Students researched the history and attitudes regarding voting in the
United States, particularly why people choose not to vote. Each student
then fashioned an approach towards advocating voting for a particular
demographic group, building their design around an appeal to that group
to participate in the general election." – Professor Patrick Dooley,
