Description
ASSIGNMENT

As designers we need to be able to effectively research and present our findings in a compelling and organized manner. Each of you will choose a neighborhood(s) in Detroit that you are unfamiliar with and can visit multiple times. You will investigate and uncover various taxonomic schemes and classifications that consist of but are not limited to animate objects, inanimate objects, places, concepts, events, properties, technology, language, vernacular and relationships (social, cultural, physical, etc.) Upon collection of your schemes or data, each student will organize, analyze and design a knowledge map that reveals the patterns (physical and conceptual) that exist in a “neighborhood” or network of locations.
