Roanoke College needed to introduce its first ever mascot to constituents. This was likely to be a skeptical audience because not everyone supported the idea of creating a mascot. We decided to launch the mascot during alumni weekend, a time of fun and exciting activities for students and alumni. Because of Rooney’s large size, I created an oversized business card to serve as a souvenir. Additionally, we mailed an introduction brochure to everyone in an effort to reach those who didn’t attend Alumni Weekend.
