Description
This was a commissioned series of paintings for a contemporary condo complex in Dallas, TX. I painted five paintings all of them over six feet in width or height. My work is very expressive and textured.
  • This series of paintings was commissioned by an interior design firm to be fitted within contemporary condo complex in Dallas, TX. I kept with my natural instincts in my use of substrate, but altered my subject matter a little. For three of the five paintings I wanted to tackle painting Industrial ruins in a very expressive manner. I wanted the subject matter to be prevalent, but even more than the subject matter standing out, I wanted the process of building up and breaking down to show through. The last two paintings were along the same lines of process and surface texture as well as visual texture... I changed gears and introduced a typographic feel. With my background in design, I can never get away from words and typography. Whether that be written, stenciled, or digital it seems to be a consistent theme within my work.
