- Hunger Task Force
Awareness Campaign - For this assignment, we were assigned the task of figuring out a theme to promote awareness for the Hunger Task Force organization. I chose to revolve the issue around the use of food and how in America, much of it is wasted. I wanted to reflect on this issue and promote saving food and giving to those in need by emphasizing on the statistics of food consumption and waste in America. I then created guerilla campaigns that helped change these issues and give back to the organization.
We were first required to recreate their logo. This is the result compared to their original which can be seen on their website: hungertaskforce.comI wanted to stay true to the use of the wheat grain, which is a huge staple food, but also make the logo more empowering and emphasize the word "task force" by using the image of a fist.
I created a series of posters that emphasized how food consumption is in America. I chose to keep it very straight forward and concise by including only typographic posters that included powerful statistics and a clear call to action.
The posters being used on grocery carts to be a reminder to consumers while they shop.
This would typically be handed out in grocery stores where Hunger Task Force bins were located or left in grocery bags/carts to promote donating to the organization and ending hunger locally.
This is how the donating campaign would be implemented. This is an easy way for people to shop for their own goods and at the same time choose products they'd like to give to the organization.
Once they are done shopping, the products they bought with the Hunger Task Force sticker would be donated and taken note of in their receipt to thank them for their contribution.
This piece would be used at local restaurants to target a wider range of people who'd like to give to the cause. This relates back to the problems of over-feeding and over-consumption of Americans and helps eradicate it by giving the portion of the food that wasn't served to help stop hunger.
This menu insert could be implemented in local food chains who agree with the cause and can use their customer demographic to help the cause grow.
A website component that is found either by going to the microsite or scanning the QR code located on the menu insert and grocery bag flyers. This is just a measurement tool to keep those who are contributing interested in finding out how they have helped and if they'd like to know more or volunteer more of their time to the cause.
