This course assignment gave us the opportunity to work in a group. We were given the city of Honolulu unto which we explored the design in the area and gave background on the city. There were 3 members in the group so we delegated spreads evenly, each assigned 5. We each designed our own cover as well. Our focus was on the idea of family, also known as ohana. We made our book small and intimate to reflect familial appeal, and used motifs throughout to express this as well, such as the picture frames. The book was built by hand, which also played off this idea of homemade craftsmanship. Shown below are my personal spreads and contributions to the book.
