Description
A historical typographic study in letterpress.
  • Delving into the past
    A typographic study in history
  • "Historical ConText" is the study of typography in history. By pairing a typeface with a literary work of the time is was designed, the voice of the type starts to become clear. Done in the ASU Letterpress shop, I handset and hand printed each of these broad sides.
  • Edna St. Vincent Millay paired with Cooper, Cooper Black's more elegant predecessor. Hand typeset, single run.
  • Berthold Brecht paired with Kabel. Hand typeset, two runs.
  • Allen Ginsburg paired with Optima. Digitally typeset, printed with a polymer plate. Single run.
