This book is an assignment for my "making meaning" course I completed this fall at RISD. The project is a translation of a documentary about the extinction of a species of bird: "Crash: a tale of two species.
The gum is a metaphor for the demise of the redknot bird. Both bird and gum are consumed by humans in the same careless excessive way.
