When I first began to study and practice responsive web design, I looked for a simple way to find the availalbe screen sizes for various devices. I could not find one so I decided to build it for myself. The result was this Grid Test Web App. In addition to satisfying my need to quicky find the displayed height and width of screens, I also learned how to serve retina specific images for iOS devices, serve appropriate touch icons, and add the start screen to mimic a true mobile application interface experience.
