"Umbrella" (Single) - Rihanna (feat. Jay-Z)

"Umbrella" is by far my favorite single by Rihanna. I made a project to honor the single in my iTunes playlist.

I wanted to emulate the Pushpin style of the 1960's with flat color blocks and watercolor washes. The texture invokes traditional printed pieces from that time period, where tiny flaws in the inks create shape variation.

My current obsession is hand-lettered type, so I incorporated Rihanna and Jay-Z's names in the puddle under Pushpin Rihanna.
